What is Menorrhagia?

My Personal Definition:
The way I would describe menorrhagia as a woman that has lived it, is menorrhagia is excessive menstrual bleeding that takes away the quality of your life. It is frightening, draining, and debilitating. I lost sleep for two nights a cycle as I had to be awake in order to keep up with the blood loss. I had to quit my job as I became reliable only three weeks per month, I could not leave my house for about 4 cycle days due to heavy bleeding, I was stuck in a chair and in the bathroom for 4 solid days a cycle as if I tried to even move, I would start to flood. This is no way to live! If you too go through this, {{{Understanding Hugs}}} for you as I know, I truly know just how debilitating this is!

So how do you determine if you are suffering from menorrhagia? Here is an excellent chart for keeping track of your cycle to give to your doctor.
It is so hard to explain to our doctors just how much blood loss is actually occurring without some sort of "tracking" device. Print this chart out and use it if you would like to, it certainly won't hurt and it will give your doctor a better "picture" of what you are dealing with each cycle:
